New operational capabilities for K-Class vessels at Indira Dock, Mumbai

In a significant operational enhancement, our K-class heavy lift vessel, the Fairmaster, has been granted permission by the Harbour Master and team at the Port of Mumbai to navigate the lock leading to the Indira Dock. This development represents a pivotal advancement for our fleet operations, especially during the challenging monsoon season.

The Fairmaster, known for its robust handling and size, fits snugly into the entrance lock of the dock, which measures 228.6 meters in length and 30.5 meters in width. With a beam overall of 27.74 meters, the vessel navigates this passage with precision, necessitating daylight hours operation due to the tight space and safety requirements.

This new clearance now allows K-class size vessels to load and unload cargo in the more sheltered waters of Mumbai throughout the monsoon season, ensuring continuous and efficient service delivery regardless of weather conditions. This capability is crucial for maintaining our commitment to safely and reliably handling our clients’ cargoes.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Harbour Master and the entire team at the Port of Mumbai for their flexibility and innovative approach to making this possible. Their efforts ensure that our operations can continue smoothly and without interruption, reflecting our shared commitment to excellence in maritime logistics.
