Expanding horizons: Welcoming MV Industrial Katharina and MV Industrial Ursula to our fleet
In a bid to continuously innovate and expand, we are thrilled to announce the recent additions to our fleet: MV Industrial Katharina and MV Industrial Ursula. These acquisitions underscore our commitment to growth and excellence in multi-purpose (MPP) and heavy lift shipping.
MV Industrial Katharina joins the fleet
Recently, we proudly welcomed MV Industrial Katharina into our fleet in Montreal, Canada. This vessel is captained by Bersan Oksal, who, along with his skilled crew, is committed to safe and efficient voyages. The MV Industrial Katharina is an eco-optimized F300-type MPP vessel, constructed in 2009. It boasts a total capacity of 12,780 tonnes, is equipped with a robust MAK main engine, and features twin decks with three cargo holds. It also includes two 150-tonne NMF cranes, which can be combined for lifts up to 300 tonnes. Notably, the vessel is Great Lakes-fitted and is in top condition, making it an ideal addition to our MPP fleet.
The vessel made a strong start by successfully completing its first voyage in Corpus Christi, delivering 33 wind blades. Afterwards, MV Industrial Katharina remained in Houston, preparing to embark on her next journey to South America.
MV Industrial Ursula completes the set
Continuing our growth trajectory, we also took delivery of MV Industrial Ursula in La Pallice, France. This sister ship to the MV Industrial Katharina is captained by Petar Nikolov and his dedicated crew. Built in 2008, the MV Industrial Ursula mirrors the specifications of its sister, further strengthening our fleet’s capabilities. Its delivery elevates the total number of vessels in our SAL-Intermarine Group to 40, and collectively within the JSI Alliance, we now operate 66 vessels available to our clients.
Enhancing the fleet with eco-optimized vessels
The eco-optimized MV Industrial Katharina and her sister, the MV Industrial Ursula, significantly enhance Intermarine’s fleet. These vessels, along with the eight additional F-300/F-360/F-500 vessels recently integrated into our operations, are known for their robustness and reliability in the project market. They provide remarkable flexibility and diversity, ensuring efficient and reliable deliveries across various shipping needs globally. With these additions, we have significantly enhanced our capacity to meet diverse cargo requirements, complementing the broader capabilities of the JSI Alliance.
Both vessels, with their advanced features and compatibility with the Great Lakes, are perfectly poised to enhance our service offerings in the heavy lift and MPP shipping sectors. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in these projects, from conception to delivery.
These strategic expansions not only enhance our operational capacity but also reflect our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service and flexibility to our clients worldwide.
